Speaker's Dinner

11 August 2023

As many of you are aware, we required to cancel our planned Speaker's Dinner in 2020 due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

A fantastic evening of entertainment has now been arranged. Dinner being provided by Bro. Gordon Black and his team.

Speaker -1  George McNeil

George McNeill is a speaker and sprinter who was the Usain Bolt of his day.

A professional sprinter in the 70's and 80's, George McNeill was considered the

fastest man in the world.  However, unlike Bolt, being a professional runner in the 70's and early 80's, George was never allowed to run for his country or perform at the Olympics.

The only title he ever had was "McNeill of Tranent". These days

George is known for his highly motivational keynote and after dinner speaking which

are great fun.

Speaker-2  Bobby Tait

Bobby Tait retired 1st Class Scottish Referee, initially  entertained us way back 2003 at our inaugural Speakers Dinner accompanied by his good friend , the late great Davie Wilson (RFC No.11), pleased to have him back.

You will be certainly entertained with his amazing wit and recollection of how he dealt with refereeing decisions especially when it came to Rangers V Celtic!

Chair:   Ian Wilson
